My z is in the garage..
my sr20det 240 is outside...i didnt drive it for 2 weeks..(no alternate parking regulations) just busy.. it needed a lil work, plus gas prices (running rich) it was sidelined.it was missing for 6 days =( i contacted everyone on the book. 311, 911, local pct, over 12 tow yards.
Day 4.. Police told me the impound lot but it was too late.
Day 5 I visited the pound and they wouldnt release it without sanitation.
weekend.. i call sanitation in the morning..
they say they junked it "probably", theres nothing i can do. i find a news report [ http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9E03EFD9103AF935A25753C1A96E958260 ] it replicates my exact scenario. =( but that was 10 years ago. "Cars that appear to be worth less than $750 are towed and sold for scrap; cars that are worth more than that are towed by the Police Department under the assumption that they are stolen." my car was obviously more than $750 even stock in blue book. sigh.. what should i do? im so weary of NY now.
